The sixth in a series of 20 Quilted Flower designs. Each design is stitched in hand dyed floss. The designs are not all the same size and shape. I named the series because the specialty stitches make the flowers look quilted.
Worked in specialty stitches, the flowers are the same size as cross stitch over 1 thread. The small size intensifies the color and shine of the threads. Specialty stitches are not difficult to learn. Every stitch is charted and the charts are easy to follow. They go a lot faster than cross stitch and they are lots of fun!
Stitched on 28 count Angel Blush Lugana using hand dyed floss from Six Strand Sweets in various shades of pinks ranging from mauves to plums. The petals of Petunia Basket are done in several Satin Stitch patterns with added horizontal stitches that give it a rich brocade look. The basket is done in Basket Filling Stitch and Pattern Darning and the whole piece is surrounded by a Princess Stitch border.
