The eighth in a series of 20 Quilted Flower designs. Each design is stitched in hand dyed floss. The designs are not all the same size and shape. I named the series because the specialty stitches make the flowers look quilted.
Worked in specialty stitches, the flowers are the same size as cross stitch over 1 thread. The small size intensifies the color and shine of the threads. Specialty stitches are not difficult to learn. Every stitch is charted and the charts are easy to follow. They go a lot faster than cross stitch and they are lots of fun!
Stitched on 28 count Lavender Bliss Cashel Linen using hand dyed floss from Olde Willow Stitchery Threads in shades ranging from lavender to purple. The Violet Basket petals are done in stitches that look like knitting. The basket is done in Chessboard Stitch and the border is Open Fishbone Stitch.
