The ninth in a series of 20 Quilted Flower designs. Each design is stitched in hand dyed floss. The designs are not all the same size and shape. I named the series because the specialty stitches make the flowers look quilted. Worked in specialty stitches, the flowers are the same size as cross stitch over 1 thread. The small size intensifies the color and shine of the threads. Specialty stitches are not difficult to learn. Every stitch is charted and the charts are easy to follow. They go a lot faster than cross stitch and they are lots of fun!
Stitched on 28 count Little Boy Blue Lugana using hand dyed floss from Weeks Dye Works in shades of blue with a touch of hot pink. Cornflower Basket is done in variations of Tent Stitch over 1 thread with Stem Stitch, Leaf Stitch and Foliage Stitch veins. The basket is stitched in Darning Stitch and Patterned Three’s and the trellis border is Four-Sided Stitch.
