The tenth in a series of 20 Quilted Flower designs. Each design is stitched in hand dyed floss. The designs are not all the same size and shape. I named the series because the specialty stitches make the flowers look quilted. Worked in specialty stitches, the flowers are the same size as cross stitch over 1 thread. The small size intensifies the color and shine of the threads. Specialty stitches are not difficult to learn. Every stitch is charted and the charts are easy to follow. They go a lot faster than cross stitch and they are lots of fun!
Stitched on 28 count Baby Lotion Cashel Linen using Sampler Threads from The Gentle Art in red, pink and bright yellow center. The heart shaped petals of Dogwood Basket are done in various Satin Stitch patterns with a 4-Way Leaf Stitch center. The basket is stitched in Linen Stitch and Gingham Stitch and the piece is surrounded by a blackwork flower border.
